Proselint suggests using "flight attendant" instead of "steward" but steward is not exclusively used to refer to airline employees

A phrase such as 'open source steward' will trigger the suggestion to use "open source flight attendant", where it does not make sense.

I don't see this rule about 'steward' upstream at all:

...so I guess it was dropped at some point.
