Noticed issues calling boxscoreadvanced and traditional V2 & V3

Are these endpoints they have recently deprecated? Does anyone have any info regarding whether the NBA is removing all public facing data sources such as this? If so what is the timeline?

What issues are you seeing exactly @NBAinsights ? From what I can tell, V2 endpoints are on the way out but V3 should be working fine. Can you detail the following to help triage?

• nba_api version
• Exact code and responses you are seeing
• Your execution environment

Regarding the deprecation, this is something the nba_api has no control over. The NBA themselves do not document these endpoints, rate limit them somewhat arbitrarily, and generally provide no support for this. Maintaining which endpoints are working and not, schema details, etc. etc. are all a community effort here 👍🏼

Thank you for the swift response. The V3 endpoints were working fine for me I just had an issue for boxscoreadvancedV3 but it started working again, I'm not sure what the issue was. Regarding the endpoint deprecation, I was more asking if you had heard anything regarding what seems to be the NBA's plan to restrict access to their data. There is a lot of data here you cannot get via commercial APIs which worries me as then I will have to discontinue some of my models if I can no longer call certain datasets.

Regardless, thanks to all working on keeping nba api updated, I hope it keeps going for many years to come!

Last night's 76ers - Raptors game fails on the advanced stats both in nba_api and if you switch the box score to "advanced stats" on nba.com, throwing an error about a duplicate primary key:

So I think the NBA may be having some issues with their data ingestion process that are causing downstream problems
