You'll probably note that there's something wrong with the Ulysses there, with the highlights showing as green and blue for some reason. That's a problem, but it's not really what I'm talking about here.
Can you see it? Various parts of the image are transparent - especially the text.
To showcase that, let me open the gimp, and add a pink layer behind the actual image here, like so

Zooming in a bit with Irfanview and taking a screenshot of the image (heresy I know) also shows the problem quite well:
This isn't just related to text rendering. You can see it too with screenshots taken from SCPUI - for variety I've gone with a blue layer here.
