We need this for v1 too, with updated config for v1. Currently does not exist in v1 docs.

This EPIC hits exactly on the research I've been doing into the pkg/app/pipedv1 source code over the last few weeks.
Since this is an EPIC and @rahulshendre / @Ayushmore1214 are also eager to jump in, I would love to collaborate!
