Since we're developing Weasis as a clinical viewer, I don't think it's a desirable feature in this context.

In addition, anonymization features in viewers are often limited and leave users with the complexity of the metadata structure. Also, anonymization tools that do not consistently regenerate UIDs increase the risk of collision or inconsistency in PACS.

That's why we're developing the Karnak tool, a DICOM gateway for project- and profile-oriented de-identification.
