Now that we publish doc-kit to npm, if we wanted to, we could re-write the library in TypeScript, and precompile it before publishing to npm.

We can add tsc if we want to ensure our types are correct, but I want to avoid source being in TypeScript. I usually like to avoid writing libraries in TypeScript, to keep it as close to the living EcmaScript standard as possible. Whereas Apps I like to write in TypeScript.

My preference is when I'm writing a package is to use typescript with earseable syntax only. And use tsdown to build them.

There is no advantage in using TypeScript for what we do here. It is just adding even one more library and dependencies on the stack of dependencies. We don't even need tsdown, Node.js has native TypeScript support to run, but I don't want to publish things in TypeScript. Then we need to transpile back to JavaScript and then there are sourcemaps issues and what not. We don't need to overcomplicated this.
