Did you know about makers? It has similar goals to omake, but incompatible license (I think), might be interesting for comparison and benchmarking.

Oh neat, I did not know about that project. It's definitely much more mature than this project. Yeah, license looks non-free I think, but I believe it would allow me to run it for the purposes of benchmarking. Honestly at the moment I'm trying to get this project into a state where it can start running the GNU Make test suite and I'm putting performance on the back-burner until the basic functionality is there.
