I struggled to connect my toy, even with a bluetooth 4.0 dongle. After investigating, I discovered I had multiple bluetooth devices. One of them was integrated to my motherboard. Even if it was not the default interface, this was the rootcause of my problem. I had to disable it completely from my BIOS interface, and then everything worked perfectly.
How intiface-central does select the bluetooth device it uses? Apparently it does not respect the default bluez controller right? It would be great to just select the best device automatically.
