Another issue would be the Auto Brightness option, which sets the lowest brightness possible if you plug the USB cable in after flashing the ROM. After getting in a darker ambinet and playing with the option, it sets the maximum brightness, regardless of the ambient light. This forces the user to set a medium (in my case 35%-40%), manual brightness to conserve battery power.
