Checkmates is an iPhone app using TesseractOCR to read characters from a photographed receipt, Twilio to send text messages in the background, Dwolla for peer-to-peer payments along with native iOS features including the camera and contacts. "Mates" claim bill items through a Rails-backed web presence.
